Pop-up Dinner: Fried Chicken International
The 4th and 5th of July, Good Food Mexico in collaboration with Delicatessen Mananá presented our second pop-up dinner, Fried Chicken International, an homage to American Fried chicken and the Diaspora that made it great.
Though fried chicken per se is not part of Mexican gastronomy, we are fortunate to have several venues in the city that offer ‘world’ variations on the theme: see Hot Mamma’s, Fat Boy Moves, Pho King and Green Asian Cuisine. We are inspired by and salute them.
For $500 per person, we offered all-you-can-eat three kinds of fried chicken (including the Kansas City type, Taiwanese and Belizian) as well as several appetizers, salads, house made pickles, breads and two drinks. The event took place in the Estudio Tonalá loft, across the street from Máximo Bistrot in Colonia Roma.
Stay tuned for our next dinner, in mid-August, that will be an homage to the Italian American Experience.
